課程概述 |
This course builds on Introduction to Simultaneous Interpreting and introduces the fundamental concepts and techniques of interpreting from Chinese into English. Students will learn to analyze Chinese audio input more critically and strategically, convert the message into English, and deliver in an idiomatic and effective way. Subject matters are also introduced incrementally. |

課程目標 |
1. Be able to talk about assigned topics in idiomatic and educated English.
2. Be able to critically analyze the Chinese input, grasp the kernel idea, and restructure the Chinese message to facilitate English construction.
3. Be able to formulate the English rendition by synthesizing relevant information and accessing existing knowledge.
4. Be able to deliver the interpretation in a polished manner while being aware of other requirements for effective communication. |

課程要求 |
Students should keep themselves abreast with current affairs. They are also required to practice on a constant basis and keep a detailed practice log that documents their progress and reflections. |
